The movie "Gone baby gone" give us the story of a child name Amanda who is kidnapped from her mother by a group of men who belive the Amanda's mother thosen't care for her and also those not take good care of her daughter then the story takes the main character patrick on a journey to find Amanda and take her back to her mother on hes mission patrick goes through a change of mind by going against hes belives and actually killing a men he then says to one of the characters in the story name Ray that he would never kill again.Almost at the end of the movie patrick finds out the that the entire time the retire captian had amanda onder hes household the whole time and that he belive that amanda would have a much better life with him and hes wife then with her maternal mother patrick completly disagree with the captain and calls the police to let them know that the captain was the one who kidnapped amanda all alone.
Patrick being the only character in the story who belives in ethical absolutism goes own through out the entire movie only following hes own belives the later leads him to the lost of hes girlfriend and to finding out that hes decision of taking amanda back to her mother was not the right thing to do because the mother did not change he ways of treating amanda by showing us a lack of parenting at the end of the movie when we see her getting ready for a date and leaving amanda with who ever wants to take care of her.
In the other hand the retire police captain believes in consequentialism being the one who takes amanda from her mother illegally he believes that by doing this he could change amanda's future for the better purpose and to raise her as hes own child in the captain's mind is the best decision even though it is wrong to adopt amanda without the concerned of the mother since this makes the mother believe the her kid is dead because patrick was not able to find her but this was until he went to visit the captain that he found amanda with him and found out the truth about what to her.
I think the movie "Gone baby gone" those not choose a side between consequentialism and ethical absolutism since it is showed in the movie the both theories are aproved and are each giving good examples of how each of them could affect the outcome of the story. both are demostrated as good and bad decision made by the characters both affecting Amanda's future life.

I do agree with your assessment of characters and movie’s ethical philosophies, which in this case are consequentialism and absolutism . The summary you give in your essay about each group believes is well done, because you explain the causes and effects of the decisions made by each one of the character by following their believes. Your essay also mentions how both groups the consequentialism and absolutism base their actions on what is the best for Amanda, but i think that you forgot to mention the effects of both believes in Amanda life.Think about, did they ask Amanda once what she really want?. Also you did not included Lionel or his wife and Remy believes and role in the movie. Although i like your conclusion when you mentioned that the movie does that take a side between consequentialism and absolutism and that what it really does is to show us both theories by giving examples of both of them as well. But think about the end of the movie, how Patrik seems to change he’s mind about the decision he made, what does this end is trying to tell us?.
On the other hand, i think that your ideas through the paragraphs are hard to follow, you should organized your paragraphs a little more.
